BACKSTAGE PASS

The Opera's community open house day for families takes place each year in May. Backstage areas open for guided tours so that everyone, young and old, can see the fascinating and myriad elements that go into each production. There are visits to the scene shop and the intriguing prop shop. The Opera’s Cantina opens for food service and the lawns provide wonderful picnic spaces! This once-a-year opportunity offers an "up close and personal" look behind-the-scenes at The Santa Fe Opera. Admission is free.

DIE FLEDERMARKET

A project of Intermezzo, The Santa Fe Opera's young professionals support group, Die Fledermarket is the city's best and most-beloved rummage sale. Held on the same day each year as Backstage Pass, the project has raised over $150,000 for various opera programs. One-of-a-kind items large and small, expensive and moderate can be found side-by-side. They include fine art, household utensils, furniture, dishes, recordings, books, and costumes from the opera. Every year eager buyers line up early for the opening to hunt for their treasures.

Intermezzo welcomes contributions of saleable items, and can arrange pick-ups in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
