Department: House Management
Service the patrons of the Opera in a friendly and courteous manner, while professionally and politely adhering to and enforcing the Opera’s management policies; assist the patrons of the Opera in finding their seats; answer general questions; and assist house management with maintaining order and resolving problems as directed.
This job requires the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment, providing quality patron service while adhering to and enforcing the house rules. A flexible evening schedule and the ability to stand for extended periods of time are requirements. There are approximately 40 evening performance dates. This is a paid position.
Ushers report to the theatre 2 hours prior to each performance, and stay until patrons have exited the theatre and the theatre has been cleared of programs and lost items.
Duties include greeting and assisting patrons of the Opera in a friendly and courteous manner, handing out program books, directing patrons to their correct seats. Requires familiarity with theater seating chart, and ability & willingness to answer questions about the theater and performances.
Long periods of standing. Must be able to lift and transport items (such as Program Books).
