Assistant to the General Director and Board Relations Manager
The Assistant to the General Director & Board Relations Manager will provide high level administrative support, working as a liaison with entities including the Board of Directors, management, volunteer leaders, and artists, and representing the General Director in a professional capacity in all instances.
Oversee every aspect of the General Director’s calendar – the “Gate Keeper” to his time; track all appointments, travel dates and engagements; act as a buffer for all requests to the General Director’s schedule.
Manage all administrative duties for the office, including travel arrangements and written communications.
Research, input information, and answer any questions related to donors and ticket buyers through use of the Tessitura database.
Plan special events for VIP guests.
Be available for all events that the General Director attends to support him as directed.
Serve as professional liaison between the General Director and artists, donors, Board members and the public. Support the Board of Directors, including planning quarterly meetings, facilitating communication between the Board President and General Director, and recording official minutes
Excellent writing skills; clear communication style; detail oriented, accurate, forward thinking and creative. Calm, professional demeanor. Proficiency with Microsoft office software and other applicable software. Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals. A college degree and prior experience of at least 5 years in a closely related position with an Opera Company is preferred.
