Seasonal employees begin arriving in the spring. By July more than 600 are working to make the upcoming season come to life!

    EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS INTERN

    Working primarily with the Volunteer Liaison and Director of Education and Community Programs, manages all aspects of the Backstage Tour Program, a public program with a significant volunteer component.

    Working with the Manager of Annual Giving and other members of the Development Office, assist in the management of all aspects of stewardship & recognition of donors as related to the various levels of giving and the associated benefits.

    MARKETING INTERN(s)

    Assist with projects and workload of the marketing department to promote the current and upcoming seasons, thereby gaining an entry-level understanding of the scope of its functions. Additionally, an intern will lead in the customer service position at the Information Podium on performance evenings.

    Responsibilities may be divided and/or specifically assigned between 2 interns.

    OPERA CLUB STEWARD

    The primary responsibility of the Opera Club Steward is to act as “house manager” within the Club and to coordinate/facilitate the privileges of the Opera’s top patrons, Club members, and special visitors throughout the season.

    SPECIAL EVENTS INTERN

    Responsible for assisting the Special Events staff with the preparation and execution of special events associated with the Opera’s Board of Directors and Donors during the summer season.

    ORCHESTRA LIBRARY APPRENTICE

    The Santa Fe Opera Orchestra Library Apprentice reports to the Orchestra Librarian.  He/she will work directly with the Chief Conductor, Guest Conductors, Orchestra Manager, orchestra players, music staff, and Orchestra Services staff and apprentices.

    Representatives provide excellent service to patrons of the Opera by assisting them with ticket purchases and program questions. Therefore, it is important to become familiar with the season's repertoire, the layout of the theater, and the general rules of the house.

    There are several positions with weekly hours fluctuating between 20 and 40, dependent on the needs of the box office. Start dates are from mid-April to early June.

    Service the patrons of the Opera in a friendly and courteous manner, while professionally and politely adhering to and enforcing the Opera’s management policies; assist the patrons of the Opera in finding their seats; answer general questions; and assist house management with maintaining order and resolving problems as directed.
