Duties / responsibilities

This position coordinates bar/concession activities at The Santa Fe Opera Theater and bar/concession activities at scheduled special events of The Santa Fe Opera – providing efficient, friendly and responsible beverage service.


Functions:
  • Interview, contract, train, supervise and schedule full roster of bartenders

  • Timely tracking of bartender payroll and manager’s hours

  • Coordinate ordering, receiving, storage and inventory of concessions supplies, including liquor

  • Administers bar register application (hardware & software coordinated with Opera’s IT Department), and generates reports as needed

  • Coordinate operation and maintenance of concessions equipment, including cash registers, ice and coffee/espresso machines and refrigerators

  • Coordinate with appropriate Opera staff for special parties and events

  • Monitor revenues from concession activities, control access and disbursement of cash

  • Monitor and control liquor access and inventory

  • Set-up, monitor and shut down seasonal bar locations

  • Manages adherence to applicable state laws and Opera’s policies regarding the serving of alcohol


Attire:
  • Daytime - activity oriented, comfortable for lifting and climate
  • Evening performances and events - evening attire allowing for professional presentation and labor required.

Physical standards:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. frequently.


Hours / restrictions: 

The position is a salaried/ seasonal position, non-benefited and exempt position.
