General description:
The Santa Fe Opera seeks an experienced and motivated carpenter/welder to join its full time, year round, Scene Shop staff. The Santa Fe Opera Scene Shop works year-round to produce 5 operas for the summer festival season and other projects to support the mission of Santa Fe Opera.
Skills & Training
Candidates must have excellent layout and scenic construction skills in both wood and steel. Candidates must exhibit excellent project management skills and be willing and able to work collaboratively with others. Repertory scenic construction experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be able to use a respirator in accordance with OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard. Candidates must be able to carry 85 pounds and be able to climb and work from ladders.
Payment & Start Date
Pay is hourly with overtime after 40 hours. Pay range is starting at $16.50 / HR. Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and retirement are available. Position start date is 3/1.
