The Santa Fe Opera is seeking a full-time, summer seasonal Gardener to help plan, plant and maintain the Opera’s gardens and containers.
The work is outside and physically demanding. The job involves kneeling, digging and lifting plants and bushes. One must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
The Gardener will be supervised by the Head Gardener, and will work with other paid, and volunteer helpers. Attention to detail, some knowledge of southwest horticulture, and the ability to work alone are desirable.
The Gardener’s job will be 40 hours per week, and regular weekend work will be required during the growing season. Compensation is commensurate with the local market at $15 per hour.
