Please read the following prior to filling out the application:

Santa Fe Opera docents are often the only contact the public has with the company. Therefore, docents must transmit accurate information about SFO’s history, production, house, and repertory.
Docent tours run Monday through Saturday at 9am, last approximately 45 minutes, and cover multiple stopping points on three different levels backstage, which requires the ability to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs.
Training for first-year docents includes approximately 8 day-long sessions scheduled in April and May.
Docent trainees work as a group with a team of mentors and conduct practice tours with each other during a series of scheduled sessions before leading tours with the public.
Docents must commit to leading a minimum of eight tours during the tour season, which runs from June through August.
