ALTO: Teacher Information Form
Welcome! Please read the following carefully before signing up for a residency. Then use the link below to complete the residency sign-up form.
Elementary Grades
• Each teacher may sign up for one residency.
• If you co-teach, each teacher must complete their own sign-up (no shared or proxy sign-ups).
Middle & High School Grades
• Teachers may sign up one class only per residency.
• If you teach multiple sections of the same subject, please choose one class that will participate.
Specialists (Arts, PE, and SPED)
Specialist teachers who wish to bring a residency to multiple classes or an entire grade level should plan to work directly with the teaching artist to decide how the artist’s available hours will be distributed. Each teaching artist has a limited number of residency hours for the school year. Once those hours are fully scheduled, the artist will no longer be available. Because every situation is different, specialists and teaching artists will need to collaborate on the best way to structure the residency—whether that means focusing on one class, rotating among sections, or sharing across a grade level.
General Guidelines
• Cost: All residencies are provided at no cost to SFPS teachers.
• Pre-Residency Meeting: Each teacher must be available for a structured planning conversation with the teaching artist (in person or online).
• Between-Lesson Work: Some residencies may include small assignments for students between visits. Please plan to support this as needed.
• Reflection: Please complete a short online reflection form at the conclusion of the residency. We also strongly encourage a brief post-residency meeting with the artist.
• Substitute Teachers: If you have a substitute on a residency day, please notify your teaching artist. That session will be rescheduled rather than delivered to a substitute.
