Opening Weekend Celebration
Summer in Santa Fe begins with music in the mountains, the thrill of live performance and the joy of gathering. The Santa Fe Opera opens its 2026 Season with a weekend designed to delight every sense.
New this year, guests are welcome to choose events individually or embrace the full weekend. Complimentary with any reservation, join us for an exclusive backstage tour that offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Santa Fe Opera.
Friday, July 3 – Opening Night Dinner – O’Shaughnessy Hall at the Santa Fe Opera
Begin the festivities with cocktails and a dinner artfully catered by the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado, enriched with insights from the director of Madama Butterfly, followed by the opera’s opening performance.
Saturday, July 4 – Elevated Tailgate – Santa Fe Opera
A reimagined tailgate tradition invites guests to enjoy cocktails and dinner with sweeping views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains before the opening night performance of The Magic Flute.
Sunday, July 5 – Outdoor Brunch – Private Garden
Culminating in one of the weekend’s most beloved traditions, the elegant garden brunch unites artists from the 2026 Season with guests of the Santa Fe Opera in a celebration that is truly a favorite event of the weekend.

The evening begins with a spirited cocktail reception, followed by a seated three-course dinner in Stieren Orchestra Hall. Each gala ticket includes premier seating at the Apprentice Concert in the Crosby Theatre featuring the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra led by Maestro James Gaffigan. The celebration concludes with a lively late-night gathering featuring dancing, live music, and sweet-and-savory delights.
All proceeds support the Apprentice Programs that are the foundation of the company’s future and a vital part of each season. More than 130 exceptional young singers and theater technicians receive intensive, hands-on training, gaining the professional experience that launches meaningful careers. Your support ensures their talent continues to thrive.
