Job Title: Information Technology Assistant for 2024 Season
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Classification: Non-exempt; base pay range of $23-$27/hr
If an internship or school credit is needed, we can comply with the requirements to meet the program specifications.

Scope and Purpose

The department is responsible for the management of the company’s Information Technology/Telephony Services.

Job Summary

This is a seasonal, 40-hour per week position with varied hours and limited overtime, lasting from May 1, 2024 until October 4, 2024. As the pre-season and in-season support role for the department, the job requires hands-on and timely completion of the tasks assigned. The position supports other departments in their requests for Technology support. The position requires flexibility of hours in-season due to evening and weekend performance/rehearsal schedules as well as other activities of the department.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collect a comprehensive inventory list of all IT Assets at the Santa Fe Opera.
  • Configure and deploy Windows 11 desktops.
  • Install printers to desktops as requested and as needed.
  • Provide support to VPN users both Apple and PC.
  • Monitor and provide support for Wireless Access Points both Public and Corporate.
  • Provide support for Retail Pro endpoints and Gift Shop access.
  • Support TouchBistro and concessions endpoints.
  • Support for seasonal smartphone users with configuration both Android and Apple.
  • When requested, attend rehearsals, performances, community events, and other outside activities.

Education/Experience

College student completed Associate of Arts or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Junior/Senior year) or similar level of advanced certification. Preference would be given for students in
Computer Science with knowledge of Arts Particularly Opera or Music.

Competencies

  • Experience with desktop support for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh.
  • High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office and other applications/software/technologies a plus.
  • Working knowledge of wireless concession systems – TouchBistro a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of smartphone Apple and Android.
  • Experience with Wireless Access Points Ubiquiti a plus.
  • Knowledge of Ipdirect printing and Microsoft Print servers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with people in a variety of staff positions.
  • Ability to manage multiple critical timelines and deadlines, ensuring the timely completion of projects.
  • Flexibility with a wide range of duties and responsibilities not limited to Technology.
  • Knowledge of opera/performing/fine arts and current practices in the field – not required but a plus!

Physical Standards

This position involves light work with lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds occasionally and the ability to support a variety of technology natives and technology challenged users. Performances are in the evening until late hours in the theater.
