Security Supervisor

 

Title: Security Supervisor
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Department: Facilities

Duties/Responsibilities

This role works closely with the Facilities Manager, and the Assistant Facilities manager and evaluate the security needs for the Santa Fe Opera and the security team.

  • Supervise and oversee the security team’s daily activities
  • Ensure the security team implements company policies and procedures
  • Regularly inspect and monitor the security equipment and systems
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments
  • Investigate security incidents and take corrective actions when necessary
  • Coordinate with law enforcement when needed
  • Train and educate security personnel on emergency preparedness and timely response to security events
  • Attend meetings with upper management to discuss security related issues
  • Regularly review and update security protocols to ensure effectiveness
  • Make sure security is following fire safety standards and knows appropriate response to fire safety incidents
  • Monitoring the campus phone, entry gate operation and access control
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Employment Standards

Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisor experience in a security supervisor role

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership skills, including the supervision, training, motivation, and evaluation of staff members
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner with others
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, directives, and procedures
  • Ability to prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate log reports of daily activities
  • Familiarity with use of radio and mobile communication devices
  • Ability to access and operate company vehicles
  • Must be able to drive a truck
  • Basic math skills and record keeping

Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Hours/Restrictions:

  • 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime (hours over 40 per week paid at time and a half)
  • Availability to work any shift – Some flexibility of hours may occur due to scheduled events during the course of the year, early arrival is occasionally necessary
  • Weekend work is required
  • Applicant must be able to work up to 12 hours per shift on occasion
  • Applicant must be able to accommodate occasional on-call shifts
  • This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position with benefits

Physical Standards:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of spending significant amount of time on your feet walking, standing and climbing stairs
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and poses a clear MVD record

Uniform:

  • A uniform (shirt) is required and will be provided
