The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs Nominated in Four Categories of the 61st GRAMMY® Awards

 

The Santa Fe Opera’s World Premiere of Mason Bates and Mark Campbell’s opera, recorded on the Pentatone label, has been nominated for Best Engineered Album, Classical; Producer of the Year, Classical; Best Opera Recording; and Best Contemporary Classical Composition

Santa Fe, NM— The Recording Academy announced today the nomination of Mason Bates and Mark Campbell’s opera The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs in four categories of the 61st GRAMMY® Awards. The Santa Fe Opera produced the world premiere in July 2017 and performances of the sold-out run were recorded live. The album was released on the PENTATONE label in 2018.

Revolution of Steve Jobs

The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs was a Santa Fe Opera co-commission with Seattle Opera and San Francisco Opera with support from Cal Performances. It was co-produced with Seattle Opera, San Francisco Opera, and The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, which performed it in September 2018. The production will open February 23, 2019 at Seattle Opera and will appear in San Francisco Opera’s 2019-2020 season.
