We are especially excited to see opera singer Isabel Leonard in the film, in a scene that painstakingly reproduces the famed 1973 performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 led by Leonard Bernstein at England’s Ely Cathedral.

Ms. Leonard has appeared on the Santa Fe Opera stage many times since her 2008 debut as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. …Let’s take a walk down memory lane with performance photos!

In celebration of the Bernstein Centenary in 2018, the Santa Fe Opera featured the composer’s operatta CANDIDE in a new production by Laurent Pelly. We invite you to enjoy some sights and sounds from that memorable production and to visit our new Production Archives for an even bigger snapshot of SFO’s rich history.
