The Barber of Seville

What’s a lovelorn Count to do when he hopes to win the hand of clever Rosina? He enlists the help of a barber! Not just any barber – it’s Figaro, the Barber of Seville! Hijinks and mayhem line their path to the altar.

Rossini’s most popular comedy returns in a new production whose playful energy springs directly from his ebullient music. Stephen Barlow’s witty new production shows us a clearly recognizable Seville, but with some fanciful twists.  From the first frisky notes of the famous overture, Seville and Santa Fe, and 18th and 21st century, meet and merge in a sunny and whimsical world where anything can happen.

From overture to finale, it’s the pinnacle of comic opera, Italian-style.
